01Overview

National Business Data and Claims ("NBDC," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit nbdc.online (the "Site"), request a search or use our unclaimed property research and claim services, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

By using the Site or submitting a request, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or submit your information.

02Information We Collect

Information you provide through the Site

When you complete our search request form, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:

• Your first and last name, email address and phone number
• Your current city and state, and other Texas addresses or cities where you have lived or done business
• Former names, maiden names, and business or trade names you would like us to search
• The name of a business or estate you are asking about, and any other details you choose to share

Please do not send your Social Security number, bank account numbers or identity documents through the Site's form.

Information you provide to file a claim

If you choose to have us file a claim, we may need additional information that the State of Texas or the property holder requires, such as government-issued identification, a Social Security or Employer Identification Number, proof of current and former addresses, business formation and ownership records, or estate documents such as death certificates, wills and letters of administration. We collect this information only after you have agreed to our services, and only through secure channels.

Information from public and government records

To find property that may belong to you, we search unclaimed property records published or maintained by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and other public sources. These records may include your name, last known address, the type and approximate value of the property and the business that reported it.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you request and the date and time of your visit. This information is used to deliver and secure the Site.

With your permission, we also use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. See Cookies and Analytics below. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and we do not sell your information.

03How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Search for unclaimed property that may belong to you, your business or an estate you represent
• Verify ownership and prepare the documentation needed for a claim
• File and follow up on claims with the Texas Comptroller and property holders on your behalf
• Contact you about your request, your claim and our services
• Keep accurate records of our work and meet legal, accounting and regulatory requirements
• Protect the Site, prevent fraud, spam and misuse, and improve our services

04How We Share Your Information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

• The State of Texas and property holders. To file a claim, we share the information and documents required by the Texas Comptroller's unclaimed property program or the business holding the property. We do this only for claims you have authorized.
• Service providers. We use trusted providers to operate the Site and handle requests, including Vercel (website hosting), Google (Google Workspace, Google Sheets, Google Drive and Gmail) to receive, store and respond to requests, and Google Analytics (only if you consent) to measure Site usage. These providers process information on our behalf and under their own privacy and security commitments.
• Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, regulation or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of NBDC, our clients or others, including to prevent fraudulent claims.
• With your consent. We may share information for any other purpose with your permission.

05Third-Party Services

The Site loads certain content from third-party services to display correctly, including fonts from Google Fonts and images from Unsplash. When your browser loads this content, those services may receive technical information such as your IP address. Their use of that information is governed by their own privacy policies.

The Site may contain links to other websites, including the Texas Comptroller's unclaimed property website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we do not control, and we encourage you to review their policies.

06Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors find and use the Site, for example which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay and what type of device or browser they use. This helps us improve the Site and our services.

• Only with your consent. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics does not load, and no analytics cookies are set, unless you click "Accept."
• No advertising. We keep all advertising storage and ad personalization turned off (Google Consent Mode), and we do not use the data for advertising.
• What is collected. Google Analytics uses cookies (such as _ga) to collect usage information, including a pseudonymous identifier, pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, and device and browser details. We do not send your name, email or request details to Google Analytics.
• Changing your choice. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking "Cookie Settings" at the bottom of any page. Declining removes our analytics cookies from your browser.

We also store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask again on every visit. 07Data Retention

We keep request and claim information for as long as needed to complete your search and any claims, maintain accurate records of our work and meet legal, accounting or regulatory requirements. Sensitive documents collected for a claim are kept only as long as they are needed for that claim and any related record-keeping obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.

You may ask us to delete your information at any time using the contact details below, subject to any records we are required by law to keep.

08Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the Site and private, access-controlled accounts for stored requests and claim documents. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09Your Choices and Rights

You have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
• Ask us to delete your information
• Withdraw your authorization for us to pursue a claim, subject to the terms of any agreement you have signed

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws. To make a request, contact us through our website. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to verify your identity first.

10Children's Privacy

The Site and our services are intended for adults who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. Where a claim involves property belonging to a minor, we work only with a parent, legal guardian or other authorized representative. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
